Arturo, played by Lazaro Calderon, along with the other cast members and chorus, were talented, believable and enjoyable. We so enjoyed the voice of Raimondo, played by Gustav Andreassen! The set was beautiful. We appreciated its minimalistic design, which was easily and realistically transformed for each scene: from moors to castle to cemetery.
We walked into the Opera Naples venue not knowing what to expect. We had no idea the quality of the production that would unfold before us over the next two hours.
Anthony was superb in his role of Edgardo, using the strength of his magnificent voice and his unmatched vocal abilities to create both authentically powerful and tender scenes, engaging the audience in the passion, betrayal, anger and sorrow in his love for Lucia.
The performance of Audrey Elizabeth Luna as Lucia was unforgettable, with her beautiful soprano voice enthralling us throughout the performance in romantic duets with Anthony, and with her “stratospheric abilities” showcased in Il dolce suono.
The quality of both performers’ technical
and dramatic talents
was the core of an exquisite production
of Lucia.

The crowning jewel of this production was Anthony’s final
two arias. His soaring tenor voice created the culminating moments of the production with
Tombe degli avi miei and
Tu che a Dio spiegasti l'ali.
Our hats are off to the performers and to Opera Naples for this marvelous production!
