When told the "bottom line" collected from the auction conceived to fund
The Anthony Kearns Prize for the Best Male Singer at the
2010Veronica Dunne International Singing Competition,
Anthony sent this message to all contributors:

I would firstly like to thank all the generous people who gave of their time
and their talents in making the fundraiser such a success:
to all who donated and/or created the items on auction,
for the time, energy and the love they gave in creating such beautiful gifts.

To all the folks who donated the monies in such uncertain times
that we live in right now, a big thank you!

Veronica Dunne would be very proud of you all, as I am.
When called upon, you again turned up trumps!
Bravo and best wishes to one and all!

Lots of love,
Anthony.

"I was interviewed on RTE (television) last week about
the new McCormack boxed collection.
I had the pleasure of reading McCormack’s letters
on the DVD as if it was himself reading them.

"Just to let you know that I am singing at a corporate event at
the prestigious Sky Club on Park Avenue in Manhattan on Wednesday
evening 12th October. It is not open to the public, but I thought
the fans might find it interesting.
The event is for The Michael Smurfit Business School.
By the way, the Ryder Cup Golf Classic is being held at the K Club
in Straffan County Kildare Ireland 2006!
It is owned by none other than Michael Smurfit.

Anthony.

Aside from Paddy:
Concert a success and well received,
though torrential rains caused a hazardous dash to the venue, tails flying!

Regretfully, I am the bearer of bad news.
Due to promoter/agent contractual differences,
The Tenors date in Kansas City will not take place.
I wanted to let folks know before they set off on their journey.
I look forward to seeing everyone at the other concert dates.

Anthony.

Ideally he would love to have written to you all as is Patrick's style,
but he is very busy with work at the present time.
Once again, thank you for your support at this time.

Once again Folks you have turned up trumps!

From your support of the Irish Tenors and myself, to the charities of Brother Brian Johnson and the Anthony Kearns Music fund enabling the kids of Kiltealy to finally get the piano they dreamed of, and now Off to the Opera Fund supporting students in studies giving them the chance I was given to make a career in this wonderful business of music.

For this I am truly grateful.
I hope you all have a peaceful and holy Christmas. I hope the New Year brings all the good things you deserve. See you all in the New Year.

God bless you all,
Anthony.

We, at the website, have been asked how people can contribute to the charity of Brother Brian Johnson, who is teaching in Kenya. In response to our inquiry of Mr. Kearns, these messages were received. In them, Anthony details how contributions can be made to this wonderful cause.

October 14, 2003
Hi Lynn,
Thanks for getting the word out there.
Yes indeed checks can be made payable to
"Brother Brian Johnson School Fund."
The Celtic Lodge can also accept credit cards.

Thanks again,
Anthony.

October 13, 2003
People can send contributions to the Celtic Lodge Guest House
81/82 Talbot Street Dublin 1.
Attention of Anthony Kearns will be fine.

Thank you,
Anthony.

Hi, Lynn and Lynnette:
Just keeping you updated..I'm performing a charity concert in the Tullamore Court Hotel in Tullamore County, Offally on Thursday, November 6, 2003.

All proceeds, ticket money, sponsorships, and fees are being donated to Brother Brian Johnson, a native of Offally, now teaching in Kenya, Africa. He is looking to build a new school for his area. Whilst facilities are fairly poor, no running water, dilapidated building, etc, the students are performing exceptionally well reaching 5th best school out of 30 for academic performance.

Tickets will go on sale next Thursday. I will be joined by Sinead Campbell and of course, Patrick Healy. There will also be a good night’s craic after with some traditional musicians from Dublin.

I will contact you with phone numbers by Sunday, so tickets can be purchased.

Thanks,
Anthony.

October 10, 2003
Hi, Folks:
Tickets will be available from the Celtic Lodge Guest House Dublin
from Thursday on. Phone number 011-353-1-8788732.
I am trying to get a decent rate from the hotel in Offally
..I'll keep you posted.

Thanks again,
Anthony.

September 11, 2003
Hi all, Hope you're all keeping well and are in good health.
I'm just pausing for awhile to remember all who
were lost on that tragic day two years ago.
My prayers go out to you and all that were affected
both directly and indirectly by that tragic event.

God bless you all, God bless America,
Anthony.

October 4, 2002
Hi Lynn and Lynnette,
Anthony here, hope life is good to you.
This is for the website.
I have worked out a very good rate in
Fitzpatrick's Hotel Grand Central for the dates of
December 2nd and 3rd for anyone that is travelling
to the Irish Tenors Christmas at Carnegie shows.
The rates are 160 for a regular room and
190 for a suite, subject to availability.
I think this is a fantastic deal for that time of
year in New York. They will also accept two to a room.
Anyone that is interested should ask to speak with
Noel O' Connell or Hilda Garvey ONLY and not
cental reservations. Phone 212-355-0100.

Slan,
Anthony.

I just wanted to thank you all for your
tremendous support, and most recently at the
Irish Ring concerts.
For those that didn't make it, I look forward to
seeing you at an Irish Tenors show
or indeed one of my solos soon.

God bless you all,
Anthony.

June 5, 2002
Hi Lynn and all the gang out there,

I know you'll do a good job in spreading the word.

Anthony's Thanksgiving message:

To all the many friends I have met down throughout the years, I wish you
all a very Happy Thanksgiving, it’s a nice chance to be able to spend time with your families and friends.

I look forward to seeing you on my travels across America with the
Irish Tenors over Christmas.

It’s been a busy, but a good year all round, lots of work done and more
yet to be done.

My head is buried in the opera score of Lucia di Lammermoor which takes
place in Naples, Florida in mid January.   I look forward to seeing many
of you who will travel from far wide to get there.

Until we meet again, my very best wishes,

Anthony.

Anthony's second message for his Facebook page --

ANTHONY HERE:  As my spring tour ends I’m reflecting on the 10 years since my first solo in America.  I was pleased to return to the very beginning on May 2 singing at Mechanics Hall.  My first concert there was so exciting. I felt honored to sing in one of the great halls where John McCormack had sung so long ago!  Thanks for 10 years of support and encouragement. "I'll see you again" somewhere down the road.  Slan!

January 27, 2010

Anthony's message to launch is Facebook page:

New Year's Greeting

Yet another year older; I'm not sure any wiser!  But as the song goes "we're on the one road sharing the one load."

It has been a pleasure seeing so many of the faces that have become so familiar to me over the years.

On all our trips north, south, east, west I look forward to the welcome that reminds me home is where the heart is ~ it is the people that make it so.

I wish you all nothing but the very best in your lives for 2010 and look forward to our journey along the road for years to come.

I would like to remember the good friends we have lost in the past year;
send our support to the young men and women ~ all the troops serving across the world who are dedicated in the pursuit of the freedom, which we sometimes take for granted.  God bless them all.

A very happy new year to you all.

Anthony Kearns
